Hey Pstiles, so good to hear that the 'worm has turned' a bit for you and that you are now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Marg - how is your Mum's arm now?

Sarah, I will be honest and say that I have only been to see Mum once since she broke her arm, too much happening here. I have been in touch tho, they went for another x-ray last Monday and it seems to be knitting.
Mum is back in the nursing home for more respite, cos they rang and said they had the space for a few weeks, and her house is also very very cold.
I will go see her today after visiting hubby in hospital.

Marg, I hope I didn't make you feel bad. You don't need to go see her. I am sure she is perfectly fine. Besides you cannot get the bone to heal any faster. You are right to concentrate on your own work load. Making time for visits is just so terribly draining. And then you sit there and have nothing to say, all the time thinking of all the things you could or should be doing. Mate, she knows that you are thinking of her and that you love her. Leave it to a phone call! And enjoy a bit of a spell. Hubby can do without a visit from you as well.

How is hubby?

Went to See my mum on Tuesday, while on the way to see Jeff. She is fine in the home, nice and warm, she was sitting up with a whole heap of other ladies watching some "Scotsman" singing. She know who I am, but forgets that my brothers, her sons exist. (guess the reason for that is they both live interstate, one in QLD and one in Vic) I was talking to her about them visiting and she was really vague so I asked if she knew who they were and she said her brothers. But....... I am happy that she is happy, fed and warm and has company there.
And no Sarah you did not make me feel bad, I can do that all on my own. I try very hard not to, because I know that I cannot possibly be in two places at once, and it is no use chastising myself about it. :P

Glad to hear that your Mum is happy and well looked after. Glad I didn't make you feel bad - but you need to stop making yoruself feel bad too. But I know it is easier said than done. I have to learn to switch my clients off. I got up at 5 am on Sunday morning thinking about my clients. So I too do it, but we both need a good spanking for allowing this. I know, I will spank you if you will spank me. Now that is a bit kinky isn't. Not really that kind of website now is it!

Changing the subject, how is Jeff?

You make me laugh Sarah, so that makes me feel good. Jeff is OK, no more no less, he has his bad and good moments.

I am coping Sarah, some days are worse than others, but you know that yourself. Latest happening here the "old clunker" (yes we are still waiting for a new one that will suit him) is dying, on the weekend Jeff is wheeling along and his right foot is sticking out the side of the chair, on the foot rest, turns out the spring that locks the foot rest in place is broken, I searched the whole shed, go the neighbour searching his, but all to no avail, I ended up using a cable tie to hold the foot rest in place.
Yesterday I went to a wheel chair shop in the hope that they may have a spare part, but unless I bring the chair in they cant do anything, so the cable tie will have to do.

Hopefully (the man at the shop said) the new chair will be here by 9th September there now it is in print. Lets see when it actually does turn up. This wheel chair shop is where the chair is coming from, but he had to ring someone to find out how it was getting on and from what I over heard in the phone conversation it is coming in from overseas. You would think that it could be australian made.

Marg: You must have the patience of a saint to put up with the delays and excuses you have suffered over what must by now be months. Not easy to keep going - if you can get the a parliament house near you with elections looming maybe the time is right for a full blown, public hissy fit.
Joking aside [ sort of] I hope the 9th September brings you better luck than you have had in a long time, if not perhaps we could bombard the powers that would like to be with invective. Pass the word if you think it will help.

Has anyone heard of the EACH program. I have just been sent this link and if I understand this correctly then I will be able to get 46 hours outside help compared with the 10 hours I currently get (I thought I was doing well to get 10 hours):

http://www.health.gov.au/internet/main/ ... achdex.htm

Aparently if I email George at the following email address he can explain how to avoid using a service provider who are marking up the cost of the paid Carer by 50% and pocketing the difference (more scum). When things slow down a bit for me then I might look into this, but in the meantime if someone else wants to check it out and get back I am more than happy to go with your research.

I hope your chair turns up on the 9th, I will be holding my breathe.
