For a play by play account of where I am at check out the thread Aggression Advice.

I've kind of been sharing, dumping, putting it all there.

Thanks for asking!

Latest update on Dads leg wound condition - since the Blue Care nurses have been coming, and using the special silver bandage and compression tubing on his legs, his wounds are almost completely healed.
I can hardly believe it! I am so pleased I got them in to help, and they only charge $5 er visit!

Mytwocats, I am probably showing my ignorance here, but what are Blue care nurses?

Hey Mytwo - i am so pleased for you. What a break through!!!

I can remember my grandfather having uclerated legs. I can vaguely remember the phrase "paper skin" being used a lot. Meaning that his skin was like paper and kept ripping and turning ulcerated and there was nothing much they could do. That was a long time ago now and things seem to have certainly improved for the better.

I am so happy for you and your father.

Just thought it was time I popped in on this thread! In the last week
a. Peter had a DVT in his leg even tho 'he was taking Aspirin to thin his blood. .Apparently this is quite a common thing for patients who have had brain operations - no one warned us of this
b. He has started serious strength chemo. Within an hour of his first dose he was throwing up, kept it up for several hours until he phoned the hospital. Was advised to go to our GP and get a couple of prescriptions to prevent nausea, and whoever he spoke to was surprised that we hadnt been given these prescriptions by the hospital along with the chemo!!
I am now keeping a Diary, and will give them the very sharpest end of my tongue on the next visit!

Hugs,
Bluewren

Oh Bluewren, how dreadul for both of you. Yes, please keep a list and make these 'professionals' accountable for their neglect. If there is anything that can get my blood boiling fast it is these professionals screwing up.

I screwed up today, I forgot to go and visit my elderly neighbours like I do every Monday afternoon at 5 pm. I have only just remembered. I feel absolutely dreadful. Especially considering I know they would have been sitting there waiting for me.

But you can be guaranteed that these professionals don't feel bad that they are screwing around with our lives, forgetting to tell you this, forgetting to give you that. And not just hubby's life but yours too as you had to go through it as well.

Mate I am so sorry that you were put through all that. I hope you have a better week.
